I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m so proud of you. Wanting to begin therapy is such a big thing. And maybe this isn’t your first time “beginning”. I get that too. We often need a few starts and stops before things can get going.

From the initial steps of this process, I begin to feel very protective of my clients. I want what is best for you, even if that is not me as a therapist! That’s why you can find some lovely referrals for other therapists here.

If you are interested in working with me, scroll through this page and see if anything resonates with you. Studies show that “goodness of fit” between therapist and client is the strongest indicator of effective therapy. So take your time, read through these offerings and set up a consultation call when you’re ready. I’ll be here when you are.

Don’t fit any of these identities but still want to work with me? Absolutely! Let’s talk!

Individual therapy

$200 – 50 min session

So you’re looking for a therapist that will help you feel safe, seen, heard, and celebrated? You got it. I love doing this work partly because I believe that we are not shown enough encouragement in this world.

I find that I work well with female identifying and/or non-binary/trans folks who tend to be more on the anxious side. Maybe your anxiety is because…

  • …you were raised in a high control/ religious environment so you now have difficulty trusting yourself.

  • ….you were parentified as a child and so you feel like it’s your job to care for everyone’s feelings, leaving you with an empty cup and high stress.

  • …you’re navigating motherhood and wanting to do things differently than how you were raised but feeling completely overwhelmed by all the input and shame you get from the internet, friends, and in laws.

  • …you are a marginalized identity that is having your rights taken away and cannot access safety in our society.

  • …you have been struggling with how you feel in your body (or the fact that you don’t feel your body) and know that it’s because of how you have been taught to fear fatness and being in a bigger body.

  • …you came out later in life and are attempting to find new relationships that accept all of you.

  • …you have been conditioned to work hard in order to deserve rest that it feels impossible for you to slow down.

These are just a few examples of the ways that I have seen anxiety show up for folks. And all ways that I either personally resonate with or empathize with! The important piece is that anxiety, depression, and all the feelings in between are information. Information to tell us that something is not working and is connected to an older story. Let’s investigate that story and write a new one together.

You can read more about my therapeutic philosophy here, but bottom line is that I am the type of therapist that helps folks 1) feel their feelings, 2) get more embodied, 3) decrease their shame, guilt, and anxiety, and 4) feel more empowered to pursue the life and the relationships that they want.

Relationships are HARD! They’re difficult in part because you have more than one nervous system to attempt to attune to and our society loves to prioritize individualism— we’re taught to believe that there is someone who is always right.

When I work with couples, I tend to be a bit more bold. I do not refrain from providing feedback quickly of what I’m seeing within the relationship— “Ouch, did you notice how they seem hurt by what you just said?” or “Wow, that doesn’t seem to be doing what you thought it would be doing.”

I work this way because I know you’re tired of repeating the same old patterns. Yes, changing and unlearning these patterns takes time, but I want to help call things out. What you’re doing isn’t working so why are we using the same tactics over and over again?

This brings in attachment theory. I utilize attachment theory to help you to identify the attachment styles that were formed from our relationships with our primary caregivers and now are influencing our interpersonal relationship. It’s all based in how we are working to find safety and love.

By assisting you to identify your attachment styles, we can work on implementing more effective communication that gets to the heart of the matter— how are each of you working to find solutions that promote the healthiness of the partnership at large? All of this is combined with knowledge of how neuroscience and somatic practices can help to aid us in caring for our partner(s) with co-regulation.

I believe in co-regulation as the key to promoting strong and lasting relationships. We are biologically wired for relationships! That means that it is beneficial for us to use our partner(s) as supports for regulating our emotions and behaviors.

TL;DR? [too long; didn’t read]: Relationships take work. I want to help you find tools to unlearn the patterns that are no longer working and implement science-backed ways to learn how to care for and trust your partner(s) in new and sustaining ways.
